Object Detail

Description
"Around the early 2000’s I started noticing alot of serious art being made out of cardboard and duct tape. There was some interesting challenging going on with regard to preciousness, status, longevity, craft, museum conservation of art, and so on. A „trend“ had very much taken root and i wanted to make a jewellery contribution of some kind. Sticky tape (duct tape) fitted perfectly amongst the materials I’d been using for a few years, also in the collaboration work I was doing with Chicks On Speed – they were the duct tape queens. I made several pieces. The brooch in the dowse collection being one of them. "
